Do you provide food?
We provide dry food at no extra charge, however we recommend that you bring your own so as to help your dog settle more quickly. If your dog is on a specialist diet, has wet food or is on a raw diet then we ask you to provide this. We have a fridge and freezer if required.
Do I need to bring bedding?
We provide durable plastic beds, vet bedding, and a variety of soft blankets. You are welcome to bring your own bedding, however we ask that you be realistic about how much you provide as our storage space is limited. If you choose to supply bedding, please ensure that it is clean and undamaged. Should any bedding become dirty or soiled, we will endeavour to wash and dry it, but in the case of items such as duvets this may not be possible.
If your dog has not been to us before, or has a nervous disposition, we strongly recommend that you do provide at least some bedding so that there is a familiar smell in their kennel.
Can I bring my dog's toys?
You are welcome to bring with you any toys that you wish, especially if your dog is used to snuggling with a soft toy, or has toys that they like to chew. We are happy to use interactive/enrichment toys such as lickmats or Kong food dispenser toys.
My dog is on medication - is this ok?
Our staff are trained in administering all methods of medication (except for intravenous). If medication is required, we ask that you provide as much information as possible about how they usually take it and that you supply us with an adequate amount to cover their stay, including a little extra in case you are delayed collecting them. Prescribed medication must be provided in its original packaging and this must either have on it the dispenser's label with administration details, or be brought alongside a printout from your vet detailing the administration details (e.g. dose and frequency).
If your dog takes supplements, then again these should be provided in the original packaging.
If your dog is on injectable medication then you will need to provide us with a suitable receptacle for the used needles, and these will be returned to you upon collection.
What happens if my dog becomes unwell?
If your dog requires veterinary treatment we will always endeavour to contact you or your emergency contact first to discuss this. However, if we cannot reach you we will arrange for your dog to be seen by their own vet wherever possible.
My family member and I want to board our dogs together - can we do this?
We are only able to house dogs together in a kennel unit who usually live in the same household. However, if you and a family member or friend wish to board dogs who have a good relationship, we will endeavour to accommodate them in kennels either next to, or opposite each other, and with your consent we will exercise them together, allowing them to socialise and play.
Do you accept puppies?
We are happy to board dogs over the age of 6 months, providing they have completed their course of primary vaccinations at least 3 weeks prior to entry. We do not recommend boarding dogs younger than 6 months as they are still getting used to you and their home environment.
What if my dog's vaccinations are out of date?
If your dog is not up to date with their annual vaccination boosters you should discuss this with your vet. If they recommend restarting the course of vaccinations then this must be completed a full 14 days before we can accept them into the kennels.
What should I do when I arrive at the kennels?
Initially we ask that you leave your dog in your car and come into reception to let us know that you have arrived. Once appropriate, the team will ask you to bring your dog in and we will either take them straight out into one of our play parks to explore, or get them settled in their unit. We will ask you to complete any remaining paperwork and provide any necessary information about your dog. If you have not already provided a copy of their vaccination records you will be required to do this before we can accept your dog into the kennels.
Will you give me updates about my dog during their stay?
Absolutely. We are happy to send updates and photos by text, email, WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. You are also welcome to call us to check in with your dog whenever you like during our reception opening hours.
